What to Expect
Going to the Hospital
When you're in labor, call to let us know you're coming to the hospital for a smoother admission process. When you arrive, go to the emergency entrance.
Tailored Birthing Experience
Count on us for a secure, comforting environment to deliver your baby. We designed our birthing suites with you in mind to provide a haven for your baby's arrival. Expect skin-to-skin bonding with your newborn right after birth and help to start breastfeeding.
Childbirth Support
Your doctor will work with you during pregnancy to create your ideal birth plan. They'll be at your side to ensure you and your baby stay safe during childbirth. We're here to support the birth experience you envision.
Pain Options
During labor and delivery, you can choose pain relief options, including epidurals and intravenous pain medications. Natural pain relief aids like whirlpool tubs and birthing balls are also available.
Family-Friendly Suite Amenities
After delivery, you and your newborn will "room in" your private suite until you go home. This helps you rest, relax and bond with your new baby. Your birthing suite includes features to make you and your family more comfortable during your maternity stay:
- Fold-out sleeping chair for your support person
- Private bathroom with large tub to relax in after birth
- Room for family visits
- Wi-Fi to share baby's first photos
Free, Follow-Up Home Visit
After you leave the hospital, a registered nurse will visit your home for a free check-up. The nurse will assess your baby, evaluate your health and answer any questions about your recovery and newborn care.
NICU Telehealth Services
Most babies go home within a day or two after you give birth. But some infants need a bit more care. Should that happen, your baby’s care team has a partnership with St. Cloud Hospital for neonatology services, which they can access through telehealth services 24-hours-a-day, allowing your baby to stay closer to home and family.
