Early Childhood Connections

  • Follow Along Program is a way to learn about your child’s health and development. The program is at no cost to you and provides:
    • A fun way to get ideas about “what to teach” and “at what age” to teach it.
    • A simple way to ask questions about how your child is hearing, moving, seeing, playing, talking, learning, growing and acting.
    • An easy way to find out about other services you may want for your child.
  • Help Me Connect Minnesota helps pregnant and parenting families with young children birth to 8 years of age connect to services in their local communities that support healthy child development and family well-being.
  • Help Me Grow Minnesota connects families to resources that help young children ages birth to five years develop, learn and grow. Find ideas on how to support a child’s development, healthy learning, and growth. Families can seek additional support through their local school district and receive a comprehensive, confidential screening or evaluation at no cost. Additional services and support may be provided through Home Visiting and Early Intervention.
  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is where parents and their young children (ages birth to kindergarten) come to explore, play and learn together. For registration and fee information, call your local school district program. If you are on a tight budget and unable to pay, you are still welcome to join!
  • Family Home Visiting Program is a voluntary, home-based service ideally delivered prenatally through the early years of a child’s life. It provides social, emotional, health-related and parenting support and information to families, and links them to appropriate resources. Connect with your local county public health office to talk to them about services available in your community.
