Your Sleep Medicine physician may recommend a sleep study as your first step towards improving your sleep quality. A sleep study involves spending the night at our Sleep Center, a comfortable, home-like environment where special monitors are used to observe and record your sleep.
CentraCare - Willmar Sleep Center provides testing, diagnosis, and treatment of sleep disorders for adults and adolescents 13 years and older.
You are welcome to watch cable TV. Wi-Fi is available. You will sleep in a private room, much like a motel room. Most people do not have trouble sleeping during the study. Please bring any medications you take at bedtime, during the night, or right away in the morning, including over-the-counter sleep aids and pain medications.
The CentraCare - Willmar Sleep Center is located at 2015 First Street South, in the Professional Suites building, between T.J. Maxx and Fenstra Insurance. Click here for driving directions and parking map.
The sleep study will monitor various parameters in your sleep:
- Eye movements, brain waves and muscle activity
- Heart rate
- Level of oxygen in your blood
- Breathing and snoring
- Sudden leg or body movements
- Body position
Sleep studies are available and scheduled seven days a week; you may be required to start the test as early as 9:00 p.m. or as late as 10:30 p.m.
