Projects supported by philanthropy continue to make a difference for our patients and their families.
Peggy Carlson could write a book with all the health care experiences she and her family have had over four generations.
“We are very grateful for the care our family has received.” Peggy and her husband, Chuck Nielsen, value hospitality and children and that’s how they direct their giving. “We appreciate the hospitality of the Gorecki Guest House, and Clara’s House benefits children with mental health challenges.”
She recalls her dad’s quote, “If you see a need and God has given you the gifts to meet the need, then just do it!”
And they do.
John and Helen Monson feel blessed and are grateful for the wonderful health care and specialty services available close to home.
“CentraCare – Long Prairie has been here when we needed care, and we are honored to support projects and equipment to improve the care provided,” said John.
In addition to financial support, they served on the committee that raised funds for the construction of the CentraCare – Long Prairie campus.
“We appreciate the beautiful hospital and the skilled care team in our community,” Helen added. “What a gift it is!”
Richard Gunderson witnessed the compassionate care CentraCare – Rice Hospice provided for his late wife, Barbara, during the last month of her life. He wanted to give back to help others going through cancer treatment and to support continued education for Hospice staff and volunteers.
“I was very impressed by the compassion and commitment of the Hospice team during the day and night. On one occasion, the team drove through a heavy snowstorm to provide support. I want to ensure this service continues to help others as well.”
