What I Do
My philosophy of care is that I desire to take care of my patients the way I'd like my family to be cared for.
My clinical interests include acute illness and injury, and I still work in urgent care, but I've gradually gravitated towards treating substance use disorders.
Why I Love My Work
What I enjoy about my work is my patients, and I appreciate the opportunity to meet them in their need, particularly helping those who're struggling as I have struggled.
I was motivated to go into health care because thirty years ago, when I set out to study medicine, I had a simple desire to help others. Over the last 10 years however, in dealing with my own addiction, I've gravitated towards addiction medicine, using my own painful experiences for something good.
Getting to Know Me
Outside of work, I am with my family, or training for and competing in CrossFit.
